The Friendship Trail
The Friendship Recreation Trail, spanning 16 scenic kilometers across Fort Erie, follows Lake Erie's north shore, offering a tranquil journey through farmland, charming villages, watersheds, and quiet residential areas. Built on a former rail line, the trail boasts a relatively level and smooth path, ensuring it's a comfortable ride for individuals of all ages, including wheelchair users. Whether on foot, bike, or rollerblades in summer or exploring on cross-country skis in winter, it caters to various outdoor enthusiasts. Notably, it forms a pivotal part of the Greater Niagara Circle Route and seamlessly links to the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail, which, in turn, connects to Trenton, Ontario, and the vast Trans-Canada Trail network.
