Once known as a tourist attraction for its amusement park, Crystal Beach is now considered a beach destination. Life in this laid-back lakefront community is all about the white sand beaches and being in or on the water. Perhaps the most famous beach on Niagara's South Coast, Bay Beach, has just about everything going for it: crystal clear and warm shallow water, soft white sand, accessible and modern facilities and a relaxed beach vibe. When you’re done soaking up the sun, stroll along the main drag and Hot Dog Alley for the trendy new shops and restaurants.
The beaches
Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of this lakefront community from Crystal Beach's most popular beach, Bay Beach. Featuring flawless white sand and warm crystal clear water. Bay Beach has undergone extensive renovations to provide an accessible and modern beach facility for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike. New park components include: washroom facilities complete with lockers, change rooms, showers and a water bottle filling station, a new playground, a viewing deck, and an accessible ramp down to the beach mats to provide access to the water's edge.

Grab some local eats on your way to the beach. Stop at Kings Head English Pies for some British takeaway. Or maybe Mabel's Gourmet Pizza for a New York-style thin crust stone baked pizza. Opt for something on the lighter side with fresh smoothies, salads, bowls and avocado toast at Shaka. Save room for dessert, especially the cronuts at Cravings By Jayne, if you're lucky enough to snag one.

However, the draw of life on the lake has now made Crystal Beach a real estate hot spot with an expanding population of year-round residents, referred to as Beachers.
